The House of Sisters

Originally established as the residence for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, the House of Sisters evolved into a symbol of compassion and community service in Al Karak. Since the arrival of nuns from Palestine in 1905, the house has been a sanctuary for those dedicated to educating and assisting the local population. In the aftermath of a devastating famine in the 1870s, volunteers flocked to Al Karak to provide vital support as they devoted themselves to the welfare of the community.

In recent years, the historic building underwent a transformative renovation, emerging as a vibrant hub for artistic expression and economic empowerment. With fully equipped pottery and clay rooms, the House of Sisters now offers modern facilities for locals to engage in pottery workshops, enhancing their employment prospects.
